She is excited to expand her practice into the vibrant and eclectic community of Del Ray/Alexandria. Her practice focuses on providing individualized therapy services for adolescents and adults for a variety of disorders, such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational difficulties, self-esteem, and grief. She works collaboratively with clients to develop an individualized plan that is tailored to their own desires for personal growth and well-being. She believes that an integrative therapeutic approach that includes the mind, body, and spirit, is optimal for helping clients in reaching their personal goals. Different therapeutic approaches and techniques include: Cognitive-Behavioral, Interpersonal Therapy, Psychoanalytic, Gestalt, Humanistic, Mindfulness, Experiential, and Positive and Energy Psychology techniques. She believes that a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship can bring help, hope, and healing to your life. This relationship is often the first step toward helping individuals to understand their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.

Education and Training:
Dr. Fisher completed her undergraduate degree at Mary Washington College, earning a BA in both Psychology and American Studies. She continued on to complete her doctoral degree in psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University/Washington DC Campus. She chose to earn a PsyD because of the program’s emphasis on being a practicing psychologist and studying a variety of therapeutic techniques versus a traditional PhD which places more emphasis on research. She completed her doctoral internship at Lakeview Specialty & Rehabilitation Hospital working with individuals with acute and acquired brain injuries and bariatric populations. Her training has also included a variety of inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings with a broad range of population and treatment issues. Over the last 8 years, Dr. Fisher completed her post-doctoral training, licensure, and early career in outpatient private practice. She started her own practice in 2010, specializing in therapy and psychological assessment services for adolescents and adults. Other responsibilities included coordinating treatment with mental health and medical professionals, working collaboratively with schools and other community agencies, clinical supervision for graduate students, and conducting risk assessments for reality television candidates. She is also a member of the Virginia Psychological Association and the Northern Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists.
