Dr. Eleni Boosalis, Psy.D.
Dr. Eleni Boosalis is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults experiencing depression and anxiety disorders. She believes in treating each person holistically by addressing their cognitive, emotional, and spiritual parts. Dr. Boosalis uses a variety of treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral (CBT), hypnotherapy, and experiential techniques. She believes that the best way to truly break old patterns and treat symptoms is to address the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual parts of one’s self. She can help you discover the roots of maladaptive patterns and guide you toward becoming empowered in your life. She also utilizes meditation and mindfulness techniques to help patients developing insight as they move toward becoming their most authentic self. Dr. Boosalis views therapy as a collaborative process in which an individualized plan is developed to address one’s specific needs through either short term or long term goals.


Education and Training:
Dr. Boosalis was raised in the Washington DC area and has practiced psychology in Northern Virginia for nine years. She is fluent in Greek. She earned her B.A in Psychology at George Washington University and graduated Cum Laude. She earned her Doctorate degree at Argosy University, Washington DC campus. She completed her doctoral internship at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ and has completed Level I and II hypnotherapy training from the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis as well as from the Institute of Ethical and Clinical Hypnosis. She has also attended Regression Training from Dr. Brian Weiss at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck NY. Dr. Boosalis is a member of the Golden Key National Honors Society and the PsiChi International Honors Society in Psychology. She is also a current member in the Northern Virginia Academy of Clinical Hypnosis. Dr. Boosalis was recently named "top 10" psychologists in the area on Rate MD.com.
